Painter, teacher.

Son of Frederick and Maria Theresa Bertina Hellings Rolshoven of Detroit, Michigan. In 1878 he moved to Dusseldorf, Germany, studying under Hugo Crola. From 1883 to 1884 he studied under Frank Duveneck in Florence. Rolshoven's works are included in the collections of the Detroit Institute of Arts and in the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, among others.
