Influential Roman Catholic Archbishop.

Daniel Murray was born in county Wicklow, Ireland, on April 18, 1768. He attended university in Dublin and the Irish College in Salamanca, Spain. He was ordained in 1792, and served as a curate at Dublin and Arklow. In 1809, he became coadjutor bishop to John Thomas Troy, Archbishop of Dublin. In 1811, with Mary Aikenhead he founded the Irish Sisters of Charity. In 1823, he was appointed as Archbishop of Dublin. Archbishop Daniel Murray died in Dublin on February 26, 1852.
