John Henry Overton (1835-1903) was a Church of England minister, and church historian, publishing The English Church in the Eighteenth Century in 1878. His later works included Life of Christopher Wordsworth, Bishop of Lincoln (1888), having worked with Wordsworth at Lincoln Cathedral for 4 years.
