Photographer. Came to California for gold; was on North Fork, Feather River in 1857; in Grass Valley 1863; Nevada, 1868. Worked as a one man band, taught dance. Moved to Eureka and Arcata when he went into photography business. Moved to San Francisco. Then settled in Monterey in 1881.
