Govan, Gilbert E. (Gilbert Eaton), 1892-
Variant namesDr. Gilbert Govan was director of the library at the University of Chattanooga (1934-1962). He was also a prominent local historian who published a couple of books about Chattanooga and area histories. Another endeavor Dr. Govan undertook was writing book reviews for various local publications, including the Chattanooga Times.
