Also included are annual reports (1920-1933), minute books, and ledgers of King Coal, a west coast distributor of Spring Canyon coals; records relating to the I.W.W. in Carbon County, Utah; and records of the related Royal Coal Company, Standard Coal Company, and the Knight Fuel Company.

The Spring Canyon Coal Company was established in 1912 by Jesse Knight. One of a number of mining camps based in Spring Canyon, Utah in the early 20th century, coal mining began that same year.
