Contains poems and occasional verse written partly in Byfield, Mass. by the compiler, a school teacher, during his association with Amherst College, West Brattleboro Academy (Vermont), and Francestown Academy (N.H.), and at Byfield, Mass. Also a collection of hymns and other verse, including a poem "On the Death of Edgar A. Poe" by Sarah T. Bolton, and monument inscriptions transcribed by the compiler.
