Franc provides rich recollections of her early friendships with Alfred H. Barr, Jr. and his wife, Margaret Scolari Barr, her tenure at Magazine of Art (1947-53) and her subsequent appointment to the Department of Circulating Exhibitions at The Museum of Modern Art in 1954. She describes the formation and. growth of the International Program under the direction of Porter A. Hightower (1970-72); the formation of the Museum's professional staff union (PASTA); and the employee strikes of 1971 and 1973.
