Papers and photographs, 1864-uuuu.

Letter written by Franklin Hoyt, a Port Washington, Wis. native, to John T. Martin as proof that Hoyt served with the 1st Wisconsin Heavy Artillery Drum Corps during the Civil War. The photograph, taken at Alexandria (Virginia) in 1864, shows the members of the Drum Corps and their instruments. Also in the collection are three photo prints of a Civil War era tintype of Hoyt.
