The Angela Janszen Burke Papers consist of photographs, correspondence, clippings, biographical information, and memorabilia documenting Burke's career and interests. Of particular value are materials concerning the Alaska Spruce Log Program (1942-1944), the purpose of which was to supply the military industry with Sitka spruce for the manufacture of de Havilland Mosquito bombers during World War II. They include photographs of logging and camp life at Edna Bay on Kosciusko Island, Southeast Alaska, and thirty issues of "The Sprucelogue" (1943-1944), Burke's newsletter about life at the Edna Bay camp.
