Letter, 24 Mar. [18]46 (Washington, D.C.), from Tho[ma]s Jordan to George Law, Esq., in Baltimore, re Jordan's recent illness and a meeting with [John Caldwell] Calhoun during which they discussed a new "machine." Jordan writes that Calhoun "had requested a friend of his to examine the machine the day he saw me at the Capital...The other handbill you sent me I sent to my son, who wrote for one, as several Mechanics had called on them for a description of the machine before they c[oul]d give an opinion on the matter."
