The collection is mainly centered on material relating to Reid's high school career at Spaulding High School in Barre, Vermont for the years 1939 to 1942, and focuses on extracurricular activities such as football, track, band, dances, debating, and drama. There is a small amount of material relating to Reid's elementary school years at Lincoln School, including a fifth grade newsletter, as well as a few items from his time at the University of Vermont.

H. Driscoll Reid was born November 26, 1924, in Barre, Vermont, the son of Howard H. and Pearl W. Reid. He attended Lincoln School and Spaulding High School, Barre, Vermont, graduating in 1942. He attended two years at the University of Vermont before entering the U. S. Navy in 1944. After the war, he studied dentistry at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He returned to Vermont and practiced dentistry in Randolph, Vermont until his retirement. He died September 26, 1999. ...
