Letters to William Holman Hunt, 1852-1865.

The collection comprises four short letters sent by Coventry Patmore to his friend William Holman Hunt. Three of them are invitations to dinner, leaving the choice of day to his friend. They were sent in August and November of 1852, and one in June 1865. In the latter he says "It is nearly two years, I think, since we have had any talk together." The fourth letter, on mourning stationery, was written on Aug. 6, 1862, after the death of Patmore's first wife. He invites Hunt to spend a night at his place in Hampstead.
