Zembrosky family photographs, early 1900s-1983.

Photographs of the Zembrosky family liquor stores (on the south side of Milwaukee) including photographs relating to social activities and business. Stores represented include the California Wine Gardens on Vliet St. (1933); and Bay View Liquor Store on Kinnickinnic and Lincoln Ave. (ca. 1946-1983). Persons represented include Nate Zembrosky, Harry Zembrosky, and Max Zembrosky; also Eddie Cantor at a wine showing promoting Welch's wine (Cantor's autograph on picture). Other photographs depict: Omicron Alpha Tau (Greek letter society in 1935); a summer formal (1939); and family photograph in Elroy, Wis. (ca. early 1900s).

Eddie Cantor was born Edward Israel Iskowitz on January 31, 1892 in New York City. He was orphaned at age of two and raised by his grandmother. Cantor was a vaudeville performer and singing waiter and appeared in Gus Edwards' Kid Kabaret, in Ziegfeld's Midnight Frolics in 1916 and star in successive Ziegfeld Follies, 1917-1919.
