Emery Kolb collection, 1850-1988.

Emery Kolb saved an enormous file of correspondence, business records, and materials on subjects of interest. The business records are of value to those who are interested in the history of Kolb's struggle with the National Park Service and the Fred Harvey Coroporation. The correspondence sheds light on personal relations within the family, friendships, working relationships, and again, various altercations with other business and institutional interests. All the manuscript materials which are not unique to the collection are available on microfilm. Oral histories mention issues such as Emery's status as a photographer and his view of the world, his friends and colleagues, exploring the Canyon, and hiking in the Canyon.
