William Fulsbury Carter (1811-1888) was born in Newry, Me. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served a mission for the Church to India. He married five wives, one of which died in Winter Quarters in 1847. He settled in Utah County, Utah with his five wives and forty children. He died in Santaquin, Utah.
