Founded in 1901, to promote economical operation of steam power plants. Held last meeting in 1917 and dissolved in 1939. Records contain correspondence, an expense book, minutes, survey replies, and miscellaneous material. Primarily documents routine operations of the society. Also highlights the society's support for legislation concerning engineering education and safety, and its cooperation with similar state and national organizations.
