Letters, ca. 1883-1927.

Collier writes of several of his primarily historical-themed paintings being set up over time for photography, among them "The Last Voyage of Henry Hudson;" a contribution requested of him for an international exhibition in Berlin; frames required for portraits; engagements with his subjects for sitting; a journey by train and ship from London to Paris, citing fares and schedules; and an ambiguous reference to his article on art in the 19th century, in which he endeavored to correct "a curious tendency at present towards the exaltation of a decadence and degraded form of art which can do a great deal of harm."
