The collection contains letters from the Irish painter and poet Samuel Lover discussing poetry, his paintings, social engagements, personal business, and family matters. Included is a letter asking for the whereabouts of his painting "Ruins of Durwick" (1862 Sept. 1); to William Cox requesting the transfer of three of his pictures to the Crystal Palace Gallery (1867 March 7); and a detailed letter commenting on and praising the poems of Frances Ridley Havergal. With a letter illustrated with a bunch of grapes on a vine (1862 July 18). Arranged chronologically.
