New York City School-Community Interaction Umbrella Program correspondence and project files, 1971-1974.

This series contains records relating to the approval of projects of the New York City School-Community Interaction Umbrella Program during school years 1971/72 and 1972/73. Included are project files from four of the umbrella program areas: Umbrella 2 Curriculum and Teacher Growth, Umbrella 3 Guidance, Umbrella 4 Basic Skills and English as a Second Language, and Umbrella 5 Communications. The project files for 1971/72 contain project application providing summary information on the projects' funding history, an estimated budget, narrative description of the project, and number of participating students and schools. The more extensive files for 1972/73 also contain notification of project approval, requests for modifications in program or budget, correspondence concerning implementation of the project, memoranda of field visits by Urban Education staff, and project evaluation survey (mailed information report-MIR) giving summary information regarding the project's progress.
