Notes and fragments from the De Belder papers, ca. 1957.

These notes and manuscript fragments were found among the books acquired by the Getty Research Library from de Belder's book collection and research library. Most of the items relate to Henry Fuseli, the Swiss-born English artist. A clipping from the London Times (July 23, 1957) discusses a Fuseli painting in an exhibition at Agnew's. A typed carbon copy of a review by H.A. Hammelmann of Frederick Antal's Fuseli studies covers 3 pages. Two typed pages are fragments of a Fuseli handlist. Two sheets of paper are covered with handwritten research notes about Fuseli. In addition, two pages contain typed and handwritten entries for an unspecified catalogue or bibliography, in French. These perhaps relate to de Belder's famed book collection.
