Charles Mead papers, 1856-1867 (bulk 1863-1864).

Letters, most to his sister, describing and commenting on his regiment's activities and his duties. The letters are from Virginia (Feb.-Aug. 1863), coastal South Carolina and Florida (Oct. 1863-Apr. 1864), and Virginia again (May-Nov. 1864). Also one letter (1856) written while he was a student at the University of Michigan.
