The collection consists of material relating to all aspects of Irving Penn's career as well as many personal items. It includes correspondence, both personal and professional; research materials; scrapbooks compiled by Penn of tear sheets of his magazine work; book dummies; press and publicity documentation; and awards. Paper Archive A includes Penn's tear sheets, press and publicity materials. Paper Archive B includes Penn's correspondence, studio diaries and calendars, and technical information.
