Transmittal letters for revoked charters, 1924-1935.

This series consists of transmittal letters sent to the State Library recording the revocation and subsequent surrender of approximately two dozen educational charters. According to rules of the Regents, when an educational corporation is dissolved, its records and papers must be preserved. These letters accompanied the charters or certificates of registration surrendered to the Regents upon revocation or termination. The letters typically state the name of the institution, status of the revoked charter (i.e., provisional, amended, recalled), and date of revocation and/or date the charter was initially granted by the Regents. No copies of actual charters are present.
