Methodist minister in southern Oregon, including Jacksonville. Reverend Roscoe Cole Oglesby was born in Illinois on 17 May 1833, the son of William W. Oglesby (1804-1880) and Mary Dunbar (Stockton) Oglesby (1806-1880). He married Mary J. Armstrong (b. 1851) in Jackson County, Or., on 8 August 1871.
