Collection consists of: a letter to Henry Cave concerning drawings by Cave and mentioning John Landseer; a letter to a Mr. Bartholomew in which Varley mentions showing some of his drawings; a note to a bookseller (Mr. Booth) requesting a copy of "Hoyle's Games";, a letter (1835 May 14) to Bartholomew regretting that he cannot accept the invitation; and a leaf from the draft manuscript of Varley's "Treatise on Zodiacal Physiognomy" (pub. 1828) containing 12 pen and ink sketches of heads from various angles and heavily corrected sections of the text.
