Alfred Bendiner caricatures, 1938-1955.

This collection comprises caricatures drawn by Bendiner spanning from 1938 to 1955. The drawings from concerts, stage performances, opera, and theater productions depict actors, conductors, comedians, musicians, and performers. Mediums of the drawings include ink on paper, pencil on paper, or lithographic prints. The caricatures are arranged in alphabetical order by name of performer or title of show. Some of the caricatures were produced for the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin, and some clippings are included in the collection. There is one sketchbook in pastels containing caricatures from the 1929-1930 production of Lysistrata at the Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia, Pa. There are some brochures from Alfred Bendiner's posthumous exhibitions dating from 1981 to 1983.
