This collection shows the extent people went to in earlier days to collect and access the published writings of Ellen White. This is shown here by collections of typed or clipped periodical articles as well as samples of privately compiled indexes. Also a part of this collection is official White Estate sponsored projects. These include the letter and manuscript indexes, an annotated catalog of letters and manuscripts, an index to the Question and Answer file, list of the Branch Office document files, card index to the old Branch Office book collection, duplicated periodical articles (Review and Herald, Signs of the Times, and Youth's Instructor) which were later printed, the original work on the manuscript release project, and the Surprise Project--collection of published books in which are noted known borrowings from other authors. Also included are Branch Office correspondence, White Estate Consultation materials, and White Estate Board Minutes. These last three series are not available for research use.

This typed, double-sided Russian transcription of the Desire of ages by Ellen G. White was done between 1935 and 1940 in Russia. Interest in, as well as ownership and dissemination of, religious materials was severely discouraged then so it was with great peril that this project was undertaken. Manuscripts of this type were treasured and carefully preserved until the early 1990's when religious material printed in the Russian language became readily available. From the description of...
