MUSC Sesquicentennial Celebration Records 1971-1975.

The MUSC Sesquicentennial Celebration Records, consists of 21 folders of event planning, 1971-1975 (one item from 1988), arranged alphabetically. The folders consist of handwritten, textual, printed, and photographic documentation of the planning and celebration of the Sesquicentennial events. The folders include information on the commemorative medallions, the logo for the Sesquicentennial, and the gallery show event held at the Gibbes Museum of Art. Committee files are included, those being for the Executive Committee with meeting and planning information and for other miscellaneous committee material. There are also folders containing publicity, the short film script, expenses from events and items sold, an "Historical Sketch of MUSC" by J. Waring for the Journal of the South Carolina Medical Association; as well as a copy of the commencement address, reviews on the commemorative book, rough copy and reprint of Dr. Waring's Sesquicentennial article for the Southern Medical Journal, and founder's day and time capsule information. Also included are printed event programs, schedules, activities, and reports for events, citations of merit for people involved with the Sesquicentennial, and texts of talks given at the Sesquicentennial dinner May 9, 1975. Miscellaneous items include a personal letter to Dr. Waring, a letter from W.C. Worthington, Jr. to Dr. Dodendorf, and list of items for a scrapbook.
