George Curtis Waldo was a son of Josiah Crosby Waldo and Elmira Ruth Ballou. His mother was the daughter of Rev. Hosea Ballou, who was the great-uncle of Hosea Ballou 2d, the original president of Tufts College. George Curtis Waldo graduated from Tufts A1860 and G1860, then received an honorary degree in 1900.
