Atkinson Foundation Albert Schweitzer letters collection, 1956-1964.

Collection contains five letters and two photographs. Written 1956-1964, these are thank you letters from Schweitzer to the Atkinson Foundation for monetary gifts to the general hospital and leper village in Lambaréné, Gabon. Four of the letters are addressed to Donald K. Grant at the Foundation. Each letter has a portion in English. One letter is written by Marion Mill Preminger, four by Ari Silver. Each letter then has a separate portion hand-written in French by Schweitzer. All letters have English translations. One photograph of the Ogooué River and Lambaréné. One photograph of Schweitzer at the leper village.
