These letters document Harvard undergraduate military training and military service in World War I, and life as a medical student in the early part of the twentieth century. They consist of three letters to Wheeler from friends in military service (1917-1918) and 14 letters written by Wheeler to his mother describing briefly his undergraduate military training and his life as a medical student (1918-1923).
