The R/V Brooks McCall departed on Aug. 15, 2010 from Fourchon, La. to collect data in the Gulf of Mexico, Mississippi Canyon. Aug. 17, 2010, day two of the cruise was spent in Port Fourchon after being recalled because of deteriorating weather. On Aug. 16 and Aug. 18 2010, water samples were collected at 7 stations (BM175--BM181) for particle size distribution measurements using the LISST-100X particle counter, a total of 77 LISST samples were analyzed, including duplicates. Samples at depths of elevated fluorescence or other significance were selected from the CTD trace for fluorescence intensity ratio measurements and analyzed using a Quantech Life Sciences fixed wavelength fluorometer. All stations showed higher small particle concentrations at the surface than at depth.
