This collection is composed of correspondence, poetry, and other writings as well as personal and professional papers of Veneta L. Nielsen. Outgoing correspondence is arranged alphabetically by recipient's name. Incoming correspondence is arranged chronologically. Nielsen's poetry is filed alphabetically by the first key word in the title or first sentence. Collections of poems compiled by Nielsen have been placed in separate folders and filed alphabetically with the other poetry by the first key word in the collection title. Researchers should note that Nielsen frequently re-typed poems by other authors for her own files. These poems have been culled out whenever identified, but some unidentified "third-party" poems may remain in the collection.

Veneta Nielsen was born October 25, 1909 in Wellsville, Utah to Mr. & Mrs. Paul Leatham. She married Harold L. Nielsen, with whom she had two children.
