The 20th Commemoration of the Kent State shootings, held in 1990, remains one of the largest-attended of all the annual gatherings. Dennis Hearn was born in Chesterland, Ohio in 1949. Hearn was graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kent State University in 1971 and pursued some graduate work at KSU in addition to performing in a number of Porthouse Theatre productions. Moving to New York, Hearn studied with drama instructor Uta Hagen. Hearn collaborated for a number of years with pastor Al Carmines, founder of the Rauschenbusch Memorial Church of Christ, and worked with Carmines on many musical productions inclu...
