Art director Wilfred Buckland was born in New York in 1866. He collaborated closely with David Belasco on several Broadway productions in the early 1900s, until he moved to Hollywood in 1913, where he worked as art director with Cecil B. DeMille, Jesse Lasky, and later with Alan Dwan. Buckland is mostly known for his contribution to numerous innovations in the film industry.
