Harry Joseph Weiss was a professor (1953-1989) of mathematics and engineering mechanics at Iowa State University. Weiss was born on February 15, 1923, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Iowa State, Weiss worked at Carnegie Technical Institute (Carnegie Mellon University) and Brown University.
