Library scrapbook of Margaret Capps Beda, director, May 1960-1970.

Newspaper clippings, col. photographs, and misc. papers collected by Margaret (Peggy) Capps Beda during her tenure as Librarian of Virginia Beach-Princess Anne County Public Library from 1960-1962, and, after the city-county merger in 1963, of the Virginia Beach Public Library. Includes articles concerning the growth of the library system and the establishment of the (1st) Bayside Library on Virginia Beach Blvd., Windsor Woods Library, Bayside Library on Independence Blvd., and Kempsville Public Library. Also includes articles concerning the role of the library board, Mrs. Beda's resignation, and the hiring of Samuel Clay as her replacement. Additional clippings and miscellanea include invitations to library events through 1978.
