The Mowry family was among the first settlers of Providence, Rhode Island. Henry Mowry was a brother of Joseph Mowry. "Lawyer" Joseph Mowry was Captain of the Trained Band of Smithfield, Rhode Island. Joseph had a son Job; Joseph and Henry had another brother Job, and their father was Daniel Mowry.
