Rough statement of what I furnished at request of Mrs. Barry to enable the editor of the Port Folio to better sketch out the life of Comm. [odore] Barry : manuscript / by J. Kessler, 1813.

Consists of a biographical sketch written by John Kessler about the life of Captain John Barry which he had furnished a copy of to the editor of the monthly magazine THE PORT FOLIO. Also included is a copy of vol. II, no. 1, of THE PORT FOLIO, dated July 1813, which includes the article A BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF COMMODORE JOHN BARRY, with manuscript annotations by Kessler inserted among the printed pages. The issue is inscribed "Life of John Barry" in black ink, on p. 1 of cover, and includes an engraving of Barry on p. [2].
