The documents and photographs in the collection are in the original order in which they were assembled in two oversized pressboard binders. This collection contains the contents of two pressboard binders, the first of which was labeled "Flight Lander Camera Test History - Camera Drawings." That binder contained the Viking lander camera testing schedule logs (see Folders 1-14). In Folders 15-30 are the flight testing computer software program printouts, program flow charts, routine names and acronyms that also were in the binder. The binder also included documents describing computer input-output structure, subroutine command printouts for science experiments, camera control, imagery control, and communications relay, thereafter, followed by a group of documents describing camera parts schematics, and assembly diagrams (see Folders 31-84). A second pressboard binder was labeled "Geologic Testing Pictures (Book 1 of 2) from Langley, Pre-launch" (Book 2 of 2 was not part of the accession). This binder contained the images taken during camera testing, which are now present in Folders 85-163. The majority of the test photos were taken in June 1974.
