The William Kenneth Hyslop Papers consist of financial records and correspondence related to Hyslop s land and agricultural investments, in addition to his work for Massey-Harris. Also included is correspondence in regard to his bequests to the University of North Dakota, journals of his hunting and fishing trips, and one folder of newspaper clippings concerning Hyslop, his family and acquaintances.

Massey-Harris-Ferguson Limited was an agricultural implement manufacturer. Daniel Massey (1798-1856) began manufacturing farm implements at Bond Head but moved to Newcastle in 1849 where he established the Newcastle Foundry and Machine Manufactory, later renamed the Massey Manufacturing Company by his son. William Kenneth Hyslop was born on May 19, 1885 in Inkster, North Dakota. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hyslop. The family moved to Grand Forks when he was twelve years old. He attended Grand Forks High School, and was a member of the football team. Following graduation, Hyslop enrolled at the University of North Dakota in 1902. He was an active member of the A.D.T.
