Papers and photographs, 1949-2000.

Disparate materials pertaining to the service of Stanley C. Zdrojowy, a Knowlton, Wisconsin resident who served with the 1st Marine Division during the Korean War. Manuscript materials include Zdrojowy's military identification card, a magazine article about the Korean War, and a letter of appreciation certificate from the Republic of Korea commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the war. Photographs include black and white images from Zdrojowy's basic training and Korean War service. Basic training photographs include images of him at Long Beach, California and posing with his unit's bulldog mascot, Brigs II. Korean War images include Zodrojowy posing with fellow soldiers, images of both North and South Korean civilians carrying supplies and at military checkpoints, and a photograph of South Korean soldiers marching. Also included is an image of Zdrojowy in Japan just before participating in the invasion of Inchon. After the war, Zdrojowy settled in Tomah, Wisconsin where he worked in a lumber yard.
