Mary Frances Swan diaries, 1906-1907, 1909-1910, 1912.

Diaries of Mary Frances Swan, a student at the University of Chicago, 1906-1909, and then a teacher beginning in 1910. Swan wrote about studying for college exams, attending parties, going downtown to shop, seeing plays, playing golf, and tending to her religious (Catholic) and family obligations. Beginning in 1910 she comments on her experiences as a teacher.
