Ackerson family papers, 1864-1996 bulk [1872-1996].

Collection includes extensive diaries from 1872-1968 of Fred Ackerson and his parents, Charles F. and Mary Jane Nellist Ackerson, and his second wife, Elizabeth V. Ackerson. Diaries include clippings and photographs of people and places in Niagara County, New York. Also included are personal papers of Fred M. Ackerson which document his personal, political, and professional life as an orator, teacher, lawyer, Niagara County District Attorney, and judge on the New York Court of Claims from 1915 to 1940. Continuing the family story are diaries from 1971 to 1996 of Fred's son, Charles F. Ackerson, who was a high school math teacher and civil engineer/surveyor in Olean, (Cattaraugus County) New York.
