Correspondence, minutes, account and membership books, aldermanic reports, ward maps, investigation reports, etc. of the Citizens' Association of Chicago (CAC: 1876-1964); plus news clippings, correspondence, minutes, membership and financial accounts, and reports of the Municipal Voters' League (1896-1939). The association dealt with such diverse matters as drainage, water supply and sanitation problems; election and civil service frauds; gambling and other criminal activities; fire protection; and revision of the Chicago City Charter. Includes diaries of Shelby M. Singleton, executive secretary of CAC for 35 years (1903-1914, 7 vols.).

Michael Kenna, also known as "Hinky Dink", was an American politician who served as alderman of Chicago's 1st Ward from 1897 to 1923 and again from 1939 to 1943.
