The William Paterson papers, 1689-1841 (bulk 1745-1806)

The William Paterson Papers, 1689-1841, primarily reflect William Paterson's legal career. More than half of the collection is taken up with files of court cases with which Paterson was involved. The remainder contains some documentation of the Paterson family, materials relating to East/West Jersey proprietors, a broad miscellaneous section, and a number of New Jersey court docket books. The collection contains none of his personal papers.
