Wilmer Carlsen interview, 1984 Aug. 29.

As a conscientious objector during World War II, Carlsen joined the smokejumpers under the Civilian Public Service Program. He describes his experiences as a jumper and his relationships with regular Forest Service employees and other religiously aligned CO's.
