Articles of agreement (1866) accompanied by certificates signed by the Nantucket, Mass., customs inspector for five Nantucket fishing vessels; photocopies of six fishing journals (1865-1866); and three volumes (1857) entitled "Sailing Directions and Nautical Remarks: By Officers of the Late U.S. Naval Expedition to Japan" by Commodore M.C. Perry, including a facsimile of the original treaty with Japan.
