Phoenix disaster collection, 1847-ca. 1930.

Correspondence, notes, clippings, and other papers, reflecting Van Eyck's research for an article (1923) published by the Wisconsin Historical Society reflecting the shipwreck disaster of the Phoenix, which caught fire, Nov. 21, 1847, off the coast of Sheboygan, Wis., and sank, carrying all but 47 of its 300 passengers, chiefly Dutch immigrants en route to Sheboygan County, Wis.
